The Kabuki Play 3

Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theater that portrays the lives of people who lived during the Edo period (1600-1868). While it's subject matter is primarily historical, Kabuki's extraordinary spectacles of color and sound through acting, dancing and music still symbolize contemporary life.

HISTORY OF "THE KABUKI PLAY"

  • The original "Kabuki Play" writings exposed a brash inner monologue as I struggled through the trials and tribulations as a college student. Broken friendships, irritating dorm-mates and akward trips home between semesters kicked off the first "Kabuki Play" series. However, college didn't last forever and "the real world" was right around the corner with drama ten fold.
  • "The Kabuki Play 2," a darker and more disturbing account, told the unsettling story about my first job after graduating from college, it being one of the biggest trainwrecks in the history of "The Kabuki Play." After being caught in the middle of 10 consecutive firings in less than two years and being stuck with four pisspoor bosses, I decided that I'd had enough. So, I quit my job and cut off all the negativity in my life, and moved two hours away from home to start my life over.
  • With a new job, my own apartment and a new beginning, "The Kabuki Play 3" picks up where the second series left off and revisits my inner monologue as I try to leave the past behind me and spread my wings.

Today turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL DAY.

I woke up feeling like shit this morning. I was exhausted, not in the mood to work, and full of aches and pains—the kind you get when you have a fever. I’m probably coming down with something.

I forced myself out of bed, but was so out of it that I forgot to brush my teeth and shave when I got out of the shower. What a great start to the morning…

Furthermore, a coworker passed away this past weekend, so a few of us had plans to go to the wake this afternoon. I was already dreading going to it—those things are always uncomfortable.

To top it all off, I have class this weekend, which I found out at the last minute. I was looking forward to having at least ONE more weekend before classes started back up, but the particular class I registered for starts a week earlier than I thought.

But then… I heard the most beautiful news…
Something so exciting and magnificent that I could barely retain myself…
Something so grandiose, it’s restored my faith in God…
Something I’ve prayed for since day one…

THE BITCH RESIGNED.

The almighty, hi-riding, lying, selfishly self-centered, uncompromising, impossible, judgmental, arrogant, rude-ass, trifling 24-karat BITCH of Marketing and Communications has given up her position as Director to pursue another job at another institution. No end date set in place.

God is good.
