The Kabuki Play 3

Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese theater that portrays the lives of people who lived during the Edo period (1600-1868). While it's subject matter is primarily historical, Kabuki's extraordinary spectacles of color and sound through acting, dancing and music still symbolize contemporary life.

HISTORY OF "THE KABUKI PLAY"

  • The original "Kabuki Play" writings exposed a brash inner monologue as I struggled through the trials and tribulations as a college student. Broken friendships, irritating dorm-mates and akward trips home between semesters kicked off the first "Kabuki Play" series. However, college didn't last forever and "the real world" was right around the corner with drama ten fold.
  • "The Kabuki Play 2," a darker and more disturbing account, told the unsettling story about my first job after graduating from college, it being one of the biggest trainwrecks in the history of "The Kabuki Play." After being caught in the middle of 10 consecutive firings in less than two years and being stuck with four pisspoor bosses, I decided that I'd had enough. So, I quit my job and cut off all the negativity in my life, and moved two hours away from home to start my life over.
  • With a new job, my own apartment and a new beginning, "The Kabuki Play 3" picks up where the second series left off and revisits my inner monologue as I try to leave the past behind me and spread my wings.

Since She's Been Gone

An awkward transition period at best, there WAS NO real functional exit. In her own little world, she never really gave me or my coworker an effective training before she took her leave. But, I can already tell that it’ll get better.

Until they find her replacement, I’m now in charge of bills, managing outside consultants (to a degree), and directly working with “clients” for their production and printing needs. In a way, I don’t mind the extra work. For starters, things won’t sit on that bitch’s desk for 3 weeks before it finally gets to me at the 11th hour. Now that I have more ownership, things will get done and in a timely fashion.

This is now my opportunity to reshape the Communications department and create a well-oiled machine, something that bitch neglected to do. Things are already starting to work for the better. Not to quote a Kelly Clarkson song, but since she’s been gone, I can BREATHE for first time. I cannot wait until she is officially out of town.

I was allowed to purchase a new desk, which has given me more space to actually have 2 computers and still leave room for paper work. I’m scheduled to have my PC installed tomorrow.

With her out of the picture, I can already feel a weight lifted off of my shoulders. I don’t feel like I’m walking on egg shells all the time and constantly under a critical eye. I still have some damages and trauma she’s caused me to get through, like confidence, but time heals all wounds, right?
